Funeral arrangements have been set for the Rev. Ralph White, the South Memphis preacher who died at 71 on Saturday while officiating a funeral.
Services for White will be held at Bloomfield Baptist Church on Friday, May 31, with a wake and visitation from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and a memorial from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., according to an email from the church.
The funeral service for White will be at noon Saturday, June 1, at First Baptist Broad, 2835 Broad Ave., according to the email.
White, who was born in Memphis, founded God So Loved Prayer and Outreach Ministry, according to his church's website, and was involved with several community organizations.
White was married to his wife, Janet White, for 39 years and had three children and seven grandchildren, according to his biography on the church's website.
Several prominent Memphis residents, including Mayor Jim Strickland, the Rev. Earle Fisher and Rep. Antonio Parkinson, D-Memphis, mourned White's death.
