Eddie was regarded as a bright child even as a young child and spent most of his time watching cartoons and classic films. Additionally, he enjoys entertaining others, especially his friends and family. Most of his past performances have included scatological raps, parodies of religious sermons, and impersonations of famous people.
His first experience with fame occurred at Roosevelt Junior-Senior High School. Murphy hardly studied at school; instead, he spent the majority of his time telling jokes. Despite being often brought to the principal’s office, his teachers and fellow students still adored him. He twice received the “Most Popular Student” title thanks to his outstanding charm and wit.
He started working as a professional performer in New York’s dive bars and comedy clubs at the age of 18. His career took off after a lucky booking at the comic show Comic Strip Live.
Murphy persisted in performing stand-up routines at bars, earning him a lot of respect from his contemporaries. He became a cast member of “Saturday Night Live” in 1980.
