Eddie was regarded as a bright child even as a young child and spent most of his time watching cartoons and classic films. His first experience with fame occurred at Roosevelt Junior-Senior High School. Murphy hardly studied at school; instead, he spent the majority of his time telling jokes. He started working as a professional performer in New York’s dive bars and comedy clubs at the age of 18. His career took off after a lucky booking at the comic show Comic Strip Live.
