Celine Dion will finally be honoured with the Icon Award at the 2016 Billboard Music Awards coming up in a few weeks.
This was announced today by E! News which also added that the 10-time Billboard Music Award winner will be making her first TV appearance since the death of her husband.
E! adds that the 48-year-old mother of three will also perform Queen’s The Show Must Go On at the T-Mobile Arena on May 22. “I think at this moment in her life, the song has many meanings and it’s an amazing choice,” executive producer Mark Bracco said in a statement released to E!With the late Angelil. Credit: E!The singing icon lost her husband Rene Angelil in January after long battles with throat cancer and a few days later, her brother, Daniel Dion, passed away after his battle with cancer.She had many times put her career on hold as the family struggled with her husband’s illness, but she has sinceresumed her residency at Las Vegas.
Other stars who have received the Icon Award include Jennifer Lopez, Neil Diamond, Stevie Wonder and the late Prince.
