Badwolf (real names Christopher Davidson) was born in Lagos, Nigeria before moving to Canada at an early age. Influenced by the western lifestyle and the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Drake, J.Cole and King LOS, Badwolf has since been inducted into the rap genre. He also enjoys music from the likes of Wizkid, Burna Boy and Davido. With this understanding of both cultures, Badwolf finds a way to blend the Nigerian taste for flavour in music with the depth of his lyricism.
“I first knew I wanted to be an artiste when I saw a Lil Wayne music video, ‘So Fly’, and as every other teenager, I was attracted to the flashy cars and clothes. The passion for music soon grew deeper than material and the prime goal became to exhibit myself.”
On what drives him, he said…
“The most impactful experience in my life would be when one of my favorite rapper and friend, Joyner Lucas, told me that I was the only threat he feared, of course he went on to be successful before I launched. His words however left me aspiring to be that threat.”
On his new single ‘Medicine‘, Badwolf teamed up with adept producer, P-Style, and the video was shot in Lagos & directed by Lucas Reid. Medicine has a groovy beat and talks about Badwolf’s desire for the opposite and they being the remedy to everything.
