South Africa has 49,880 active COVID-19 cases. This is according to reports released by the Department of Health on Friday night.
In the past 24 hours, the Department of Health recorded 1,761 new infections with 43 more fatalities.
However, the total number of people that have recovered from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours is 1,190.
