The Wendy Williams show is going on hiatus indefinitely due to the coronavirus pandemic.
It was initially announced that the show will shoot upcoming episodes without a studio audience. Now, it has been revealed that the show will be on hold indefinitely.
The Wendy Williams Show announced this on Instagram, writing: “Considering the current escalation of the Coronavirus, production of The Wendy Williams Show will be out on hold, indefinitely.
“In place of live shows, we will air repeats and we will continue to monitor the situation with the CDC and city officials to determine the best time to return and produce live shows again.”
NBC’s late night programs have also decided they will not tape until further notice.
The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Late Night With Seth Meyers have paused production through March 30 – though that date could be extended.
The suspension of filming was announced in a statement posted on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’s Twitter account.
It read: “We’ve been monitoring the current situation here in New York and the safety of our staff, crew, guests and our studio audiences are our £1 priority.
“For that reason, we have decided that we will not tape any new shows effective Friday, March 13.
Jimmy Fallon, 45, will tape his final show before the break tonight and will begin to air repeats tomorrow.
Official decisions about the programs will be made later this month.
