The management of the University of Ibadan has confirmed that Governor Godwin Obaseki graduated from the institution.
Recall that the certificate presented by the Edo state governor who has been enmeshed in a faceoff with the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Adams Oshiomhole has been a subject of controversy and lawsuit.
The former Governor of Edo state, Adams Oshiomhole had recently expressed doubt over the authenticity of Obaseki’s UI certificate.
However the university in a statement issued by its Registrar Mrs Olubunmi O Faluyi, confirmed that Obaseki graduated with a second class honours, lower division.
The statement read in part;
“Mr Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki, the Governor of Edo State graduated from the University of Ibadan where he studied Classics.
“Obaseki gained admission to the University in 1976 and graduated in 1979 with a Second Class Honours, Lower Division.
“Records of his Admission and Graduation are intact in the archives of the University.”
