The Federal Government on Monday suspended the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting indefinitely following the spread of the coronavirus pandemic in the country.
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, who announced this, said all land borders in the country had been closed for four weeks.
Mustapha, who is also the chairman of Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, added that the Council of State meeting earlier slated for Thursday has also been postponed.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Monday confirmed six fresh cases of Coronavirus in Lagos, Edo, and Abuja.
The latest discoveries brought to 36 the number of people living with the disease in Nigeria.
The country also recorded its first casualty of the COVID-19 on Monday after the ex-Managing Director of the Pipeline Product and Marketing Company, Suleiman Achimugu, died at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, Gwagwalada.
