Barely 24 hours after Nasarawa State Government announced that Lagos and Kano returnees will be isolated, the state government has disclosed that 43 Lagos returnees are already in isolation.
Speaking at a stakeholders meeting in Lafia on Tuesday April 21, Governor Abdullahi Sule said 48 Lagos returnees were arrested in Akwanga Local Government Area of the state while trying to pass through Lafia to Shendam in Plateau State.
He said the returnees were taken to Jos by security operatives and subsequently placed in an isolation facility in the Plateau State capital. Five persons however escaped while being taken to the isolation facility, bringing the total number of returnees at the facility to 43.
