Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika recently addressed a general coronavirus press conference in his native Hausa language, a decision which caused confusion as the language is not Nigeria’s lingua franca.
This decision was met with similar reaction from a reporter who felt the need to ask a question in her native Igbo language.
After the minister had finished giving his speech in Hausa, the journalist covering the Igbo service of Radio Nigeria decided to pose her questions in Igbo, causing further confusion in addition to the one started by the minister.
A Twitter user with handle @OdogwuOgbete who shared the videos wrote: “[MUST WATCH] So, at the Ministerial briefing on #COVID19, the Minister of Aviation, Hadi Seriki chose to address the nation in Hausa language.
“Following in his footsteps, the correspondent of Igbo service of Radio Nigeria posed her questions in Igbo language. I love this. Watch”
The videos have however now been deleted by the Twitter user.
The best reporter of our time
Selfish being, may God help our hopeless leaders
He speaks more than your Father useless ethnic bigot.
I dont the jornalist question is reasanable because we all know Igbo is not part of Nigerian major Languages so we should consider those question as Nil.
Confusion+Confusion= No communication.
