It’s honours even after a helter-skelter first half at Old Trafford between Manchester United and Arsenal.
It’s been a classically intense English encounter, higher in physical contact than real quality, and chances have been few and far between.
United’s best chance of taking the lead was arguably the penalty appeal they saw waved away midway through the first half, when Antonio Valencia appeared to be brought down by Nacho Monreal.
Mourinho fuming
Should United have been awarded a penalty for this incident?
Jose Mourinho certainly thought so.
The United boss was fuming when the penalty appeal was turned down, and made his feelings known to the fourth official.
Mourinho has been stepping up his siege mentality in recent weeks, and was even sent off a couple of weeks ago for his remonstrations with the referee in the Bournemouth game.
This has been a common feature of Mourinho’s management throughout his career: creating the perception that the refs are out to get him, and that his teams never get any penalties.
Should have had a penalty. Agenda against Mourinho. The refs must get paid whatever Mourinho gets fined, so they try to piss him off.

Darmian booked for a Walcott dive and Monreal goes all WWE on Valencia in the box and no penalty.
