Only 16 from the roster of 25 players invited for the Super Eagles friendly game have arrived in camp barely 24 hours before the test match against Corsica.
While Ola Aina and Alex Iwobi had originally been granted waivers by the team officials from the Corsica game, there have been a number of forced withdrawals owing to injuries and visa glitches.
Speaking on Thursday morning from the Eagles’ camp, media officer for the national team, Toyin Ibitoye confirmed that only 16 players have arrived and he was quick to add that they were not expecting any more arrivals before Friday night clash.
“Yes, we have 16 players in camp now, Iheanacho, Mikel Agu, Ahmed Musa and Shehu Abdullahi joined us yesterday, we are not expecting anybody for now, the rest will join us in Paris” he stated.
The Nigeria national team will take on the Corsica Senior Team at the Stade Francois Coty in Ajaccio starting from 8pm on Friday, May 26, and then travel to Paris for the game against the Hawks of Togo.
The match against the Hawks has been scheduled for the Stade Municipal de Saint Leu La Foret, Paris on Thursday, June 01, 2017 starting from 7.30pm.
