IT'S a day circled on some men's calendars – FIFA launch day.
And the latest edition in EA Sports' hugely popular video game was officially released on Thursday.
FIFA 17 went on sale to the masses at midnight, and there were queues up and down the country as games looked to get their hands on a copy at the earliest available opportunity.
Some gamers instead beat the cold and downloaded straight from the Playstation or Xbox store.
There are some, though, who will simply go and buy the game at a sensible hour or wait for it to be delivered.
Even so, social media was alive on Wednesday night with FIFA 17 owners that couldn't contain their excitement.
