The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has on Sunday announced the capture of a man who confessed to be a recruiter as well as supplier of arms and IEDs to Boko Haram terrorists.
Speaking with the News Agency of Nigeriain Maiduguri,the Commandant of the NSCDC in Borno, Ibrahim Abdullahi, disclosed that the 56-year-old Boko Haram kingpin was arrested in Aski Uba Local Government Area of Borno on Tuesday.
“Our men have made remarkable progress by arresting a Boko Haram kingpin,” Abdullahi said.“The notorious kingpin was said to be a recruiter as well as supplier of arms and IEDs to Boko Haram terrorists.
“He confessed that his three children were also arrow heads of the BokoHaram sect.”
Mr. Abdullahi said the command had since handed over the suspect to the army for further investigation.
Security agencies have to a large extent succeeded in bringing insurgency under control.
