A cannibal killer identified as Dmitry Luchin, who killed his older lover, roasted her brain and ate it while drinking her blood, has been handed a 19-year jail sentence.
The 23-year-old toyboy who murdered Olga Budunova, 45, after going to her flat in Valdai for “romantic” drinks to mark International Women’s Day, a major public holiday in Russia, smashed a wine bottle over her head 25 times before dismembering her body with a meat cleaver.
The cannibal who went ahead to tear out her inside, also daubed swear words, including the word ‘Wh0r3’ on her body in blood and purple-coloured nail polish. The convict who was found guilty of murder committed with special cruelty and would serve his sentence in a harsh regime penal colony, had been declared mentally fit to stand trial. However he read a bizarre poem to the court in which he denied that he was a maniac, murderer and cannibal.
The cannibal who carefully planned the ‘ritualistic cannibalistic murder’ after becoming obsessed with reading about serial killers on the web, admitted to police that he got sexual pleasure from the attack, although he later retracted his confession of guilt, after a crime scene re-enactment in which he showed police how he killed and dismembered the woman.
Luchin put a wine bottle into his victim’s Vag!na and then pleasured himself, said Alexandra Dedova, 21, alleged a neighbour who witnessed the grotesque crime scene soon after the murder and was present at Luchin’s initial police interrogation. After killing her he used blood from her cracked skull to daub “a sign of the devil” on a door, testified Dedova.
“He wanted to summon the devil,” she said. He waited for five minutes but the devil did not appear. Next he took the meat cleaver and smashed her skull to the brain.
“He cut pieces out of her brain. He roasted and ate them. He liked it. He ate another piece, he said. Then poured a glass of her blood and drank.”
Dedova said: “Next he cut out her stomach, and chopped off her ears. One he put into her mouth, the other into the cat’s bowl.”
Luchin told police:
“I liked the taste of her brain.
“I decided to give it another try. Then I drained some of her blood into a glass.”
