Biography

Tyrus was born on February 21, 1973, as George Murdoch, in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. He is multiracial, having a black father and a white mother. He grew up in a foster household and had numerous hardships throughout his life. In high school, he excelled in football and wrestling at Quartz Hill High School in California. He eventually transferred to the University of Nebraska at Kearney, where he maintained his athletic career while also earning a degree in education.

Tyrus began his professional wrestling career in 2006, when he signed with WWE and adopted the ring name “G-Rilla”. He later changed his name to “Brodus Clay” and became known as “The Funkasaurus”, a fun-loving and dancing character. He left WWE in 2014 and joined Impact Wrestling, where he used the name “Tyrus” and became a dominant heel.
