Bill had an appearance on a number of well-known variety shows, including The Ed Sullivan Show in 1948. When he was cast as “Alexander Scott” in I Spy in 1965, he received his big break. Bill’s performance garnered him numerous Emmy awards. The Bill Cosby Show, in which Bill portrays a teacher, debuted in 1969, but it initially only ran for two years. On Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids (1972), he produced a Filmation cartoon based on many of his high school friends, including Mushmouth, Weird Harold, and Dumb Donald.
