Lacy M. Johnson, an American writer, professor and activist has shared her struggle with student loan which is a controversial topic among US citizens.
According to Johnson, she graduated from college in 2018 owing $70k in federal student loan. Describing it as a poor choice she wouldn’t make again, the professor disclosed that she still owes $70k even after making payments totaling about $60k in over 11 years.
She tweeted;
When I left grad school in 2008, I owed $70k in federal student loans. (A poor choice I wouldn’t make again.) For the past 11 years, I’ve been making payments (except for a period of under employment), totaling about $60,000 in payments. Guess how much I still owe. $70,000.
