Hip hop artiste and tv star Boity has pointed fingers to the South African government following the shocking death of UCT student Uyinene Mrwetyana. The 19 year old was allegedly raped, killed and buried by a 45 year old man last week.
Reacting to the development today, Boity wrote on her official Twitter page, ““All of you @GovernmentZA don’t give a fuck about the women of this country!! Nothing!!! We are dying daily and it continues because men have been shown and know very well that our government supports and protects rapists, abusers and murderers!!! @PresidencyZA,”
There’s been an upward surge in femicide in South Africa over the couple of years. A research conducted by Dr Nthabiseng Moleko of the University of Stellenbosch concluded that the surge is caused by negligence on the part of the government.
