Last Summer, Migos rapper Offset was arrested following a traffic stop that led to authorities finding a firearm in his vehicle.
Now, the Father Of 4 artist has been charged with felony gun possession, misdemeanor marijuana possession, and a traffic violation. The Clayton County District Attorney’s Office also threw out an additional charge of felony possession of a firearm while committing a crime.
Offset’s lawyers believe the traffic stop was unlawful. Originally it was stated he was pulled over for tints on his vehicle, but now he’s being accused of an improper lane change.
“It’s a common theme. We’re talking about a young, African American man driving a shiny, beautiful luxury car and clad in designer clothes and watches and jewelry. Unfortunately, people in his genre become a target for law enforcement who think that lifestyle is connected to some illegal activity,” attorney Drew Findling said last year.
Offset has plead not guilty and will return to court in May.
Earlier this month Offset was joined by his better half Cardi B in the official music video for “Clout” and he also just appeared on DJ Snake’s new star-studded track “Enzo.”
