Lil Dicky is working on his upcoming FX series and now he announces new music with Justin Bieber.
The “Freaky Friday” artist revealed the news on his Twitter account yesterday saying, “New song and video next week.” Justin Bieber quickly retweeted the post and TMZ confirmed the collaboration with their sources shortly after.
This will be Justin’s first offering since last year’s appearance on DJ Khaled’s “No Brainer” with Chance The Rapper and Quavo. He announced a hiatus from music last month stating:
“So I read a lot of messages saying you want an album. I’ve toured my whole teenage life, and early 20’s. I realized and as you guys probably saw I was unhappy last tour and I don’t deserve that and you don’t deserve that. You pay money to come and have a lively, energetic, fun, light concert and I was unable emotionally to give you that near the end of the tour. I have been looking, seeking, trial and error as most of us do. I am now very focused on repairing some of the deep-rooted issues that I have as most of us have, so that I don’t fall apart, so that I can sustain my marriage and be the father I want to be. Music is very important to me but nothing comes before my family and my health. I will come with a kick ass album ASAP. My swag is undeniable and my drive is indescribable. His love is supernatural. His grace is that reliable. The top is where I reside period whether I make music or not the king said so. But I will come with a vengeance believe that.”
Justin took some good-spirited jabs at Shawn Mendez on social media earlier this week. The whole thing started when Observe Magazine posted their Prince Of Pop cover with Sean a few days ago. Bieber hit up Mendez’s Instagram comments section to say:
“Hmmm gonna to have to break a few more records to dethrone my title there bud (Canadian voice)… But if you want we can play hockey for it but I heard you’re a real bender on the ice. We could just drop the buckets and tilt for it.”
See Lil Dicky’s announcement below and check back next week to hear the new song.
I love Justin Bieber songs so much.
