When the dust settled on Season 2 of The Voice Nigeria, Daniel Diongoli, popularly known as Idyl, was announced as the winner.
He beat finalists Ebube, Syemca, Wow, Chris Rio, J’Dess, Jahtell and Yimika.
The night started off with Team Yemi Alade’s performance of the coach’s latest single ‘Knack Am.” Afterwards, Chris Riowas announced as the latest contestant to exit the show.
Up next, Team Timi performed “Find You,” an unreleased single, which was also dedicated to his late friend and singer, Eric Arubayi and Belema.
Shockingly, Jhatell was announced as the latest contestant to leave the show.
Team Waje was next with the coach’s latest single, “In the Air.” J’Dess was then announced as the latest evicted contestant.
After Team Patoranking performed his latest single, Yimika was announced as the latest contestant to leave the show, with Idyl, Symeca, Ebube and Wow emerging the top four.
After the top four performed, Team Timi’s Idyl and Team Pato’s Ebube were announced as the top two.
Idyll delivered a soulful performance of John Legend’s ‘This Time’ and Ebube, a rendition of R Kelly’s ‘I’m Your Angel.’
Following their performances, Idyl was announced the winner of The Voice Nigeria season 2.
This win makes the Timi Dakolo the second coach to win The Voice Nigeria. The first was Waje in 2016, after A’rese emerged the premiere winner.
