Ciara got up bright and early this morning to reveal the nominations for this year’s Amerian Music Awards. Drake leads with three nominations in the Artist of the Year Category, Best Pop/Rock Album and Best Male Pop/Rock Artist. Runner-ups in these categories are Kendrick Lamar, The Weeknd, Ed Sheeran, The Chainsmokers and Bruno Mars.
Drake hasn’t dropped any new tracks as of late, but he has been promoting his OVO collective, most recently Baka Not Nice’s latest track “Money In The Bank.” Other cats in his crew are about to drop albums real soon, we got Majid Jordan’s The Space Between on October 27th, DVSN’s The Morning Afteron October 13th as well as PartyNexDoor’s Club Atlantis and Roy Wood$ Say Less set to drop this fall.
Other notable nominees in the New Artist of The Year category are Post Malone and Rae Sremmurd, who are up against James Arthur, Niall Horan
and Julia Michaels. For Collaboration Of The Year, DJ Khaled’s “Wild Thoughts” featuring Rihanna and Bryson Tiller are up against Maroon 5 featuring Kendrick Lamar’s “Don’t Wanna Know” and The Weeknd featuring Daft Punk’s “Starboy,” among others.
