Nkechi Blessing Sunday is from one of the 17 local government areas in Abia, a state in Nigeria’s South East region. She attended Olu Abiodun Nursery and Primary School in Lagos for her primary education and Barachel Model College in Lagos for her secondary education. She completed a six-month diploma in theatre arts at Lagos State University and studied International Relations at Houdegbe North American University.
After graduating from Lagos State University, her friend “Kemi Korede” discovered Nkechi’s passion for acting and cast her in her film “Omo Bewaji” in 2008. Omo Bewaji gave her a minor break in her career, leading to a meeting with Emeka Duru, who offered her a supporting role in Emem Isong’s 2009 film Through The Fire & Entanglement.
She rose to prominence in 2012, with a lead role on Kafila Omo Ibadan, following a meeting in South Africa with the producer, Temitope Bali, who offered her the role on Kafila Omo Ibadan. On February 1, 2017, she was introduced as one of the Nigeria Carnival USA’s ambassadors at the second edition of the yearly Nigeria music, cultural, and comedy event in the United States of America. She won the 2018 City People Movie Award for Most Promising Actress of the Year for her performance as “Dora” in the ghost film The Ghost and the Tout. Nkechi Blessing and Seun Sean Jimoh co-hosted the 2020 edition of the African Entertainment Awards USA in 2020.

Nkechi Blessing Sunday is a Nigerian actress, screenwriter, film producer and director, and brand ambassador.
Nkechi, an Abia state native, was born on February 14, 1989.
She is Igbo, but she is best known for playing Yoruba roles in Nollywood films. Nkechi is excellent in Yoruba roles. She was able to do so because she grew up in the Surulere and Abule Egba areas of Lagos State, which are primarily Yoruba.
In 2015, she released her first film, Omoge Lekki. MAYA Award-winning film, and she was nominated for Revelation of the Year at the Best of Nollywood Awards.
She also serves as the President and CEO of Nkechi Films Production and the NBS Foundation.
