The sum of N1 billion has been approved by the Adamawa State government for the payment of pension arrears for state and
local government pensioners in the state.
The Chief of Staff to the governor, Alhaji Abdulrahaman Abba-Jimeta, made this known in Yola yesterday.
Jimeta who doubles as chairman of the State Committee for the Payment of Outstanding Salary Liabilities said the funds was sourced from the state Paris Club refund.
“The authorities of the state and local governments pension boards should compile list of beneficiaries for payment”.
He said government has in line with the memorandum of understanding signed with Federal Government resolved to
expend 50 per cent of the expected N12.6billion Paris Club refund on salary arrears and 50 per cent on projects.
