A fresh clash between the soldiers and Shiites in Nyanya area of Abuja which occurred today, Monday October 29th, has left many dead and others injured.
The Shiites members’ who were demanding for the release of their leader, Ibrahim El-Zakzaky who has been in detention since December 2015, clashed with the security operatives who tried to stop a procession of the sect members who were marching from Mararaba/Nasarawa axis of the town.
The group’s resistance was met with gunshots, fired by the policemen and soldiers. While the protesting Shiites members scuttled for safety, some were killed and others injured. Here are photos below;

We reported yesterday that Nigerian soldiers opened fire on members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria popularly known as Shiites, who embarked on a symbolic annual Arbaeen annual trek at Zuba, Abuja.
The Shiites members who were having a religious protest which began from the Suleja area of Niger State, clashed with the soldiers around Zuba Highway, and were only throwing stones at the soldiers. However they got shot at by the soldiers, and it was gathered that over six Shiite members were killed and many others injured in the clash between the sect and military men.
