ABEOKUTA-In apparent reaction to an extract from a book, the autobiography of Awujale of Ijebu Land, Oba Sikiru Adetona, former President Olusegun Obasanjo has described as a tissue of lies the assertion that he used Nuhu Ribadu, pioneer chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to harass billionnaire businessman and GSM network owner, Otunba Mike Adenuga, Jnr.
Obasanjo while responding to some accusations levelled against him in Oba Adetona’s Autobiography titled: “Awujale: The Autobiography of Alaiyeluwa Oba S. K. Adetola, Ogbagba II”, published by Mosuro Publishers in 2010, said the Awujale’s action is unbecoming of an Oba.
The former president through his media aide, Kehinde Akinyemi, in a letter addressed to the Awujale dated December 30, 2016 and made available to newsmen cautioned the monarch against what he described as hate propaganda.
Awujale had in his autobiography, made several allegations against Obasanjo’s actions while he held sway as President, which include tormenting the founder of the Globacom Limited, Otunba Mike Adenuga, Jnr with EFCC and using Aliko Dangote as a business front.
Obasanjo in his reply said; “ The extract from your autobiography
“Awujale: The Autobiography of Alaiyeluwa Oba S. K. Adetola, Ogbagba II”, published by Mosuro Publishers 2010, pp. 187-195, which I attach to this letter was presented to me for my attention.
