Manchester United endured a frustrating afternoon at home to Bournemouth today.
Despite playing the entire second half with numerical advantage following the sending off of Bournemouth’s Surman, United failed to profit and could only draw with the Cherries.
As you would expect with United playing a smaller team at Old Trafford, the Red Devils had the bulk of possession and chances, but they couldn’t find that elusive second goal.
They thought they had it when they were awarded a second half penalty, but top scorer Zlatan missed from the spot.
It’s a massive two points dropped and leaves United still flapping down in 6th place.
Stuck in 6th
Where they seem to have been for eternity.
Today was a huge chance to finally move out of 6th place and leapfrog Liverpool and Arsenal into 4th spot (albeit temporarily),
but they failed to take it and seem eternally damned to sit in 6th spot at this stage.
Despite all the talk of Mourinho transforming this United team, and the minor glory of an
EFL Cup trophy last week, United still have that Sixth Sense.
