Nigeria Centre for Disease Control Director General, Chikwe Ihekweazu has encouraged Nigerians to wear face shield in addition to face mask to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
With the growing trend of Nigerians using a face shield in place of a face mask, the Director-General of the NCDC, Dr Chikwe Ihekweazu, said during an interview in Abuja that there is no evidence that face shield protects against Coronavirus.
According to the NCDC boss, there is evidence that a face shield might reduce exposure in healthcare workers but not meant to function alone as protection.
