A study by the University of Oxford in Britain has found that the drug, dexamethasone reduces death rates among severely ill coronavirus patients.
Health Minister Zweli Mkhize stated that more effort is made for the enhancement of the drug dexamethasone mostly especially for Covid-19 patient under critical condition.
Dexamethasone which is manufactured in SA is consumed for inflammation relieve, but presently appear to be out of stock.
It’s going to take us a while to be able to build our own capacity where we can do our own manufacturing. However, that does not derail us because we will still be accessing additional stocks that will be available.” Mkhize said.”
