But, those who fall under the middle-age bracket feel even more dejected and demotivated because they feel they have lost all of life’s purpose.

This midlife crisis presents them with hardships that makes them doubt their capabilities, at a crossroad in between their youth and old age.

This crisis makes them question their choices and unintentionally forces them to act out in inconvenient and ‘crazy’ ways.

A midlife crisis is usually triggered by a significant event that turns out to be quite negative for the person.

Hence, here are some signs that will help you identify if your partner is going through a midlife crisis.

1. Showing signs of depression
Look out for your partner showing signs of depression which may include sulking, staring into a space continuously, not wanting to partake in any activities, breaking into crying fits, irregular sleeping patterns etc. those who go through a midlife crisis are affected by the negative emotions that in turn, affects relationships and decisions.

2. Being angry
Your partner may impulsively burst into fits of anger. They might also try to blame you for their mistakes. Know that the urge to play the blame game comes naturally to those who are going through a midlife crisis. This is because they are always at the edge of their situation, making them extremely moody and irritated.

3. Second-guessing values
Your partner may begin questioning their long-held beliefs and values. They may feel betrayed by what they used to think and believe because trusting themselves is not someone who’s facing a midlife crisis, would do.

4. Being distant in the relationship
Your partner may stray away from the relationship or marriage and this can be very noticeable. Some of these signs are – your partner may stop communicating their feelings to you, stop getting intimate with you, emotionally and physically etc. They may even end up cheating on you, only because they are unable to communicate effectively with you.

5. Rooting for change
Your partner may incline towards a change in their daily routine. They may suggest taking leaves from their work to go on spontaneous trips. While this is a positive indication, it can get difficult when all your partner wants is a change from their current environment.
