MR Okpara Emmanuel Ogwu, a vehicle importer at Nigeria’s Seme border who spoke with Tribune Online exclusively stated that the Federal Government, with the ban on vehicle import policy at the land borders, wants to make life harder for Nigerians.
“They want to encourage smuggling in the first place and ultimately make life harder for Nigerians. How can government ban importation of vehicles, both used and new, across the land borders?
“How can government make such policy when we don’t even produce ordinary bicycle in Nigeria. It is obvious this government wants to create unemployment for Nigerians. How can a sane individual just wake up one day and make such policy? This is totally unfair,” Mr Ogwu stated.
