With the conclusion of the Champions League group stage on Wednesday, the draw for the first of the knockout rounds is now the next things on everyone’s minds.
All 16 clubs left in the competition, seeded by ‘group winners’, will learn their fate on Monday when the draw is made at UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland.
Teams that qualified from the same group cannot be paired together again so soon, while country protection ensuring sides from the same national association are kept separate is still in effect at this stage of the competition.
