Thuso Mbedu made South African’s proud with her new win on the American series, Underground Railroad.
The award winning talent took to social media to announce this exciting news and congratulatory messages floored her pages with reactions from other celebs that it’s an epic win for her.
“My thumb and neurons are failing me right now so I’ll just do as most South Africans do when this happens: I GOT THE JOB!!!! It was such an amazing process and experience. Like, true story, just prepping to audition for this role made me grow so much. It’s such a blessing and honour to tell this story… Again, words fail me so I’ll stop there for now,” she shared on Instagram.
Thuso will star as Cora the daughter of Mabel and Grayson born on a plantation and is known for her fiery spirit. Her co-stars include Chase W. Dillon who acts on BET series “First Wives Club”, and Aaron Pierre who is in the sci-fi series “Krypton”.
The series boasts 11 one-hour long episodes in its first season and will be directed by Oscar Award winning screenplay writer Barry Jenkins.
