The debate about who the best rapper in Africa is will forever be undefeated. Over the years the topic have been the center of several debates from live shows to social media.
Heavyweight names are brought up but who wears the cap? Names like Sarkodie, M.I, Stogie T, Slap Dee, Manifest, Casper Nyovest, AKA, Kaligraph Jones among others always pop up whenever this debate is brought up. The latest icon to add his voice to the debate is high flying Ghanaian Rapper Amg Evergreen. The rapper who hails from The Takoradi City of Ghana Concluded the debate by crowning sarkodie the king of rap music in Africa. According to Evergreen, Sarkodie is undisputed and untouched.
He made it clear that Sarkodie is the face of rap music in Africa and thus a huge amount of respect should be put on his name.
This revelation was made during a recent radio interview whiles promoting his new single Yaaba which featured Sarkodie.
Evergreen later took to Twitter to address his claim further by throwing some shades at Nigerians. He stated plainly in his tweet that Nigerians will fight Ghanaians over almost everything including jollof but when Sarkodie is brought up in the debate they have nothing to fight for. Why? Because they tremble at the sight of the name Sarkodie. Even their greatest rapper of all time M.I Abaga had to kotow the king.
Evergreen has been tipped for greater things by Sarkodie himself and sees the young rapper as a potential successor to his legacy. After Sarkodie took some time to listen to Amg Evergreen’s “The Green Tape EP”, he tipped him for far greater things.
You can check out Amg Evergreen’s New hit with Sarkodie titled “Yaaba” out.
King @sarkodie is the biggest rapper in Africa, a Nigerian will argue with a Ghanaian over jollof, economy, population size women etc.
The only time a Nigerian will keep mute is when u mention Sarkodie.#Yaaba— #LRep 💽💚 (@AmGEverGreeN) May 10, 2020
