Prince Kaybee gets hailed by fans for lecturing Euphonik over compensating upcoming DJs.
The Fetch Your Life hitmaker shook tables this morning on DJs performing free on TV.
Shimza felt attacked and disclaimed that DJs on the Lockdown House Party are being given some amount of money.
While Euphonik needed more explanation over Kaybee’s thought which was tweeted.
And also please be specific who you referring to just so there's clarity, #LockdownHouseParty pays its djs, even if its not their full rates 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 https://t.co/TH7PUtYD3b

Despite the fact that both Kaybee and Euphonik agreed on some point, Prince stood on the fact that exposure isn’t enough for upcoming DJs but a little amount of money should be paid.
2. Let’s compare apples with apples, 1s & 2s was competition show, you know coming from the door it’s either you win the cash prize or nothing. It was commissioned by channel with no sponsor and its mandate was not to make money but expose new talent, stop the loose mindset😊

I’m glad you agree, one more thing though, The main creative product and line item in the budget that sponsors are paying for is Dj’ing, can exposer be remuneration in this case? https://t.co/4mHNErQOMQ

We both agree that exposure and brand building is important and young artists should invest in it. But can we also agree that if a sponsor budget is available, we try to give them some compensation, no matter how small? https://t.co/urye7YkTqI

Prince Kaybee’s fans called him a smart person and he acknowledged it. The DJ further made a shout out to Shimza saying his fact was not a malicious act from his side.
In closing, shout out to my brothers @Shimza01 and PH for the brilliant concept, #LockdownHouseParty. It exposed, affirmed and promoted the incredible DJ’ing talent of SA across genres. We must continue to support because what they did takes the culture forward 🙌🏿🔥

And my thing is not to spread malice directed to any particular platform. My point here is, young DJs can play for free to build their craft & name. We all pay the art before the art pays us but where we can compensate their time let’s give them something to eat😊
