Hanks Anuku is a Nigerian who often stars as a villain in many Nollywood films back in the 90s.
Hanks Anuku, will remain in the mind of Nigerians as Nollywood’s biggest bad boy, because of the several roles he played on the screen.
Hanks Anuku who is one of the most successful and pioneer actors in the Nigerian film industry was born on the 27th of August 1960 in Ibadan, Oyo state, although his parents are Igbo, but he’s proud to associate with both tribes.
The Nollywood number gangster obtained a secondary and higher education at Loyola College Ibadan and obtained his National Diploma in Auchi Polytechnic.
After his education, Anuku moved to United States and lived there for a long time and its no surprise he acquired the American accent which became one of his selling points.
However Anuku returned to Nigeria in the late 90s and became prominent in Nollywood in 2000 following his good relationship with then Nollywood diva Regina Askia.
Hanks debuted in a move titled ‘Skeleton, but the film that sold him to Nigerians was the ‘Senator’, where he was leading character.
Hanks has since relocated to Ghana and he took Ghanaian citizenship, in 2015, before changing his name to Nana Kwame Fifi Kakra, Anuku also said about his plans to stay in Ghana for the rest of his life.
However in 2015, the internet was filled out with fake news about his AIDS infection as a result of contacts with a large number of women. The actor spent a lot of effort to refute the viral news which brought a lot of suffering and trouble to Hanks and his family.
Another reports claimed, the veteran actor is in bad shape and claimed he’s going in the way of veteran raggae music legend Majek Fashek who was still alive at the time.
However few hours after the death of Majek Fashek was confirmed, the rumor came back on internet, with started posting the late music star’s pictures along with that of the actor and they attributed his look to a very serious drug problem which they claimed was the caused of Majek Fashek’s illness that eventually led to his death.
