SA record producer, Heavy K is finally free as he revealed on social media that he is no longer a fugitive.
Weeks ago, the DJ’s arrest was ordered due to a contract breach with a company called Morobisi Entertainment.
However, in a lengthy statement shared on Instagram, Heavy K revealed that the case has being sorted and he expressed gratitude to supporters in Botswana and for the love received from them, as the case was settled at the High Court of Botswana.
Read up the statement dished out by Heavy K below:
“No Longer a Fugitive: High Court of Botswana Clears Heavy K and revokes the warrant of his arrest”. On the 29th July 2019 , when I returned from an extremely thriving performance in Gaborone, Botswana, I was disturbed to learn that I had been branded a fugitive in Botswana. I immediately enquired about the circumstances and undertook to peacefully handle the matter through the courts, with a view of exonerating my name. It soon became apparent that a company called Morobisi Entertainment had sued me for allegedly breaching a contract and had obtained an order for my arrest.”
“I am pleased to inform that today, being the 20th August 2019, the High Court in Gaborone, Botswana, declared that the order for my arrest was erroneously obtained to the extent that I had not had any personal dealings with Morobisi Entertainment, let alone breach any contract. The order for my arrest has accordingly been set aside with costs on a punitive scale. I look forward to returning to Botswana for many more performances- the love that I receive in Botswana is simply incredible,” K added.
The DJ concluded the statement saying:
“I wish to place it on record that I have the greatest respect for the rule of law and would never purposely do anything to prejudice the ends of justice. I maintained my innocence in this matter and I have been vindicated. I wish to apologize for any inconvenience to those associated with me and my brand occasioned by the unfortunate turn of events. Massive appreciation goes out to my family, supporters and friends for their well wishes and backing. I would also like to extend my endless gratitude to my attorney in Botswana, Mr Mompati Sepego of Sepego Legal Practice, for his swift, meticulous and professional assistance in handling the case.
See you soon Batswana betsho!”
