Fashion trends won’t cease to amaze us as each year comes with a new crazy trend.

Now, the trend has upgraded from wearing braces to now colouring the teeth!

You must have seen it on rappers in music videos but it now way beyond music videos. People now wear this temporary colouring on their teeth for weeks.

From pink to green, to very bright colours, fashionista men and women now rock this new fashion.

The teeth dye became a crazy fashion in 2018 when David Silverstein came up with a colouring product that looks like nail polish to colour a tooth or the whole of it. The product is made with food colouring to avoid damaging or staining the dental enamel.

You need to apply it with a little brush on every single tooth. Silverstein even promised to launch a new glitter line.

How do you wear this teeth dye?

For females, just try and imagine it as an extra accessory to match with your makeup, lipstick, nail polish, or outfit. The coloring does not fade when you eat and lasts 24 hours. To remove, simply brush with toothpaste.

Silverstein says the product’s solvent is made from a grain alcohol base and that the pigments, similar to food coloring, are compliant with the Food, Drug, and Cosmetics Act.

He didn’t disclose the product’s full ingredient list for proprietary reasons but says the polish is “100 percent safe” and was formulated by dentists.

Showing up at your morning meeting with sky-blue dyed front teeth might seem less than professional, but Silverstein sees multicolor mouth flair becoming as quotidian as tattoos.

“Perhaps you go to work with one tooth [that] matches your nail polish or your hair color,” he says.

However, some dentists are afraid of the harm the colouring might do to the teeth.

“I wouldn’t be comfortable saying [dental paint] is safe without a material safety data sheet, or MSDS, which would have a full list of ingredients,” says Dr. David Drew, a dentist in Woodridge, New York. “I would not recommend daily use without a long-term study proving its safety.”
