BlowTime Entertainment and Mavin Records artiste Charles Chibueze Chukwu better known as Crayon shares his sojourn into music during an interview on Soundcity Radio 98.5 FM.
The ‘So Fine’ crooner who bagged a nomination for ‘Rookie of the Year’ at the Headies Award 2019, narrated how he got signed to Mavin Records and the process of making his debut EP.
According to Crayon, he had always been making music as an amateur prior to getting signed, however, the defining moment for him was walking out of the exams to pursue music as a career. He further added that this was during a UTME (Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination), he stood up and walked out of the examination hall. During the interview, he stated that he hopes to return back to school later.
For Crayon, getting signed to Mavin Records started with meeting Baby Fresh through a mutual acquaintance who was a fan of his music. He also stated that before his official unveiling in 2019, he was housed at the Mavin Records HQ for nearly a year, recording music and learning.
His EP “Cray Cray‘ released a few months back is basically a selection of songs he recorded one or two years back.
