Nigerian rapper Ycee has called out his South African counterpart AKA. Ycee accused AKA of promoting Xenophobia attack.
AKA cried out on social media months ago after Nigerian defeated South Africa at the African championships. The Cape Town born rapper at that time said it is better for South Africa to lose against Egypt than Nigeria.
Ycee on social media said, “I don’t rate South African men at this point … and I’m not trying to create any form of animosity between us and them (that they don’t already feel against us) It is really sad that In 2019 Xenophobia is what we are still facing and discussing as a problem. There is this subtle dislike that a lot of them (If not all) feel towards Nigerians and no matter how hard they try to hide it .. it eventually jumps out – like when AKA had a full childish grown man tantrum when they lost to Nigeria in the nations cup”
AKA replied with a screenshot from his Fela in Versace visuals
Ycee then replies with a screenshot of AKA’s tantrum
AKA then went berserk, passing his point across in his usual manner. AKA told Ycee, “South Africa and Nigeria is the continent’s BIGGEST RIVALRY … a SIBLING RIVALRY because we are brothers and sisters … I also hate losing to Australia for fucks sake. Let’s pull together as Africans and stop dividing ourselves. This whole narrative is stupid!!!”
In AKA’s defence, Nigerian blogger Ovie says what AKA’s tweet over losing to Nigeria is exactly what it is.
In @akaworldwide ‘s defense, his “sibling rivalry” tweets about losing to Naija were just that. No hate whatsoever. I absolutely detest losing to Ghana, Cameroon or S.A. Doesn’t mean I want their businesses destroyed, or their ppl killed or driven from my country.
