According to the motherboard, Palenkova uploaded a selfie to the app shortly before committing suicide. “Goodbye” was written as the photo’s caption. Following her death, he requested that no condolence messages be sent to him via his page on a Russian social media platform.

If people don’t want to cause him psychological distress, he says those letters won’t help him feel better and asks that they refrain from writing to him about it.

According to CNN, the 16-year-old girl drew a picture of herself with the name “Rina Palenkova” written beneath it to conceal her identity. This, along with a few other hints, has led the deceased girl’s family to suspect that the youngster committed herself due to the trending online “game.”

The “Blue Whale challenge” was a 50-task, 50-day online “suicide game” for teenagers, according to reports. It was claimed that the challenge was responsible for many deaths around the world. However, not everything about the “game” was as it appeared.

Early assignments were straightforward, such as “watch a terrifying movie” or “wake up in the middle of the night.” However, the tasks became darker by the day.

Place yourself on the ledge of a tower block. Cut your arm in the shape of a whale. The final test demanded that the user take their own life. The challenge’s purported origin was Russia, but word quickly spread to Ukraine, India, and the United States. The alleged “suicide game” is said to have resulted in hundreds of deaths.

However, further investigation has revealed an intriguing discovery. The game does not appear to have existed, at least not in the way that it was initially claimed.
