In chapter 1076, Luffy and Zoro will release Lucci and Kaku to join them in the fight against the Seraphim in two separate teams. One of the most significant events in this chapter is the Red Hair Pirates being spotted on Elbaf and the Kid Pirates arriving there to confront them.
Previously, Shaka attempted to contact Pythagoras but received no response. Luffy also noticed communication errors, and all the Den Den Mushi were destroyed one by one, leading Shaka to suspect someone else’s presence in the Labophase. The Straw Hats crew and Vegapunk clones decided to split into four groups to search for Vegapunk.
In the first group, consisting of Nami, Brook, and Edison, Nami got sidetracked by man-made diamonds, and Edison reminded her of their mission to find the real Vegapunk. The second group on the second floor comprised Chopper, Robin, and Atlas, where Robin found artificial organs, and Atlas revealed that they belonged to Vegapunk.
Sanji, Jinbe, and Stussy made up the third group, operating in Tower B, where Sanji asked Stussy to call him a dog, and the latter flirtatiously agreed. Ussop, Franky, Lilith, and York made up the fourth group, and they discovered Pythagoras, who had survived by detaching his head from his body.
Later, York approached S-Snake, who turned her into stone and attacked the others, but they managed to avoid her. Lilith stated that defeating a Seraphim was impossible, but Franky suggested fighting back. In Tower A, S-Bear and S-Hawk breached the room and began attacking, but Luffy and Zoro saved Kaku and Lucci while avoiding their attacks. Shaka realized that Vegapunk was commanding the Seraphim and someone was attempting to kill them. Finally, Lucci and Kaku woke up and asked to be freed to fight alongside Luffy and Zoro, who responded with strange faces.
