Madeline accused Goldman of insulting her intelligence and attempting to discredit her by implying she didn’t understand the purpose of the hearing. She went on to say that she had left the Democratic Party because it was a “plantation.” The case dragged on until Bragg was appointed DA in 2022. Since her son’s death, she has been fighting for justice for him.
Brame also started a petition on Change.org calling for stricter sentencing guidelines in first and second-degree murder cases.

Madeline Brame, a grieving mother whose son, Hason Correa, was murdered in 2018, became emotional in a Manhattan courtroom during a bail hearing. Brame clutched her chest in agony as video footage of the crime was shown in an attempt to get one of the alleged attackers released on bail.
Hason Correa, a US Army veteran, was fatally stabbed outside a Harlem apartment building in 2018. He was 35 years old, married with three kids.
Christopher, James, and Mary Saunders, as well as Travis Stewart, were arrested and charged with murder and gang assault in connection with his death. Two suspects have accepted plea bargains, and the trials for the other two are set for October 2022. Madeline Brame, Correa’s mother, has been outspoken in her criticism of the plea deals and the handling of the case by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.
James Saunders pleaded guilty to gang assault and second-degree murder at the end of the year and was sentenced to 20 years to life in prison. Christopher was found guilty and sentenced for gang assault, whereas Travis Stewart and Mary Saunders pleaded guilty to gang assault. Stewart received a seven-year prison sentence, and Mary Saunders was released after 14 months on Rikers Island. Although the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office declined to comment, they did point out that all four defendants pleaded guilty, with two receiving lengthy prison sentences.
Madeline Brame Son Hason Correa Stabbed To Death
Madeline Brame, the mother of Hason Correa, who was stabbed to death in Harlem in 2018, is speaking out against the handling of her son’s death by DA Alvin Bragg.
Brame has been a fervent advocate for justice for her son since his murder, and she has criticized Bragg’s handling of the case and bail reform. Hason’s mother will testify at the upcoming House committee hearing in Manhattan on Bragg’s actions. She claimed that Bragg went soft in the killing of her son and that he was “not fit to be a dog catcher,” adding that he was in the wrong line of work.
Brame, who now serves as the chair of the non-profit advocacy group Victims Rights Reform Council, believes prosecutors mistreated her and her family. If Bragg had not actively participated in the case, it would not have progressed and justice would have been delayed. She was recently published in National Review. Madeline believes that the 2019 state criminal justice reforms, which prohibit judges from setting bail on misdemeanors and some felonies, are to blame for the broken justice system. Brame believes that reforms that provide services to violent criminals so that they can become contributing members of society should be phased out.
