Hollywood has the Skarsgards in a plethora of TV and film projects. Even if the surname Skarsgard may not yet be well-known, chances are good that viewers have seen a member of the family in one or more of their all-time favourite movies and television programmes.
Six children, the majority of whom are actors in their own right, were born to patriarch Stellan Skarsgard and My after their 1975 wedding. After the divorce, Stellan married Megan Everett in 2009, and the two additional children they had together made the family of 10 a formidable power in Hollywood.
Look at the Skarsgard family and their ascent to fame.
Stellan Skarsgard – $50 Million
Prior to moving to the United States, one of Scandinavia’s most well-known actors, who was born and raised in Sweden, amassed hundreds of television and film credits. He became well-known in his native country by the age of 21, but he didn’t get a role in an American movie until 1990’s The Hunt for Red October, which he starred in with Sean Connery and Alec Baldwin. As Professor Gerald Lambeau in the highly acclaimed movie Goodwill Hunting, Skarsgard first caught the attention of the public. His career followed with appearances in the Pirates of the Caribbean series, Mamma Mia!, and Angels and Demons alongside Tom Hanks and Ewan McGregor. The actor started to appear in The Avengers and other movies by 2012.
Megan Everett Skarsgard – $1 Million
Ossian and Kolbjorn, the couple’s two sons, and Stellan’s other six children are raised by Megan, Skardsgard’s second wife. In 2009, the couple were hitched. The children’s book “Banned from the Zoo” by film producer and author Megan is maybe best recognised. She was born and raised in the United States, but she and her family have also resided in Ireland, London, and currently Sweden. After relocating to Sweden, the author started working on a variety of sci-fi Swedish movies by making the documentary Behind the Scenes: The Filming of Bye. Fans will have to wait and see what the two youngest Skarsgard children do in the future as they are only nine and eleven years old.
Alexander Skarsgard – $14 Million
The eldest Skarsgard child started a professional career in Sweden when he was young, but he wasn’t thrilled with all the success. Alexander left the spotlight, served his required time in the military, and then enrolled at a London university to study English. A trip to Los Angeles, according to Celebrity Nett Worth, led to a job opposite Ben Stiller in the comedy Zoolander, and he soon earned more roles that propelled him to stardom. Fans have followed Alexander since his appearances as Eric Northam on True Blood and in Big Little Lies, as well as his most recent portrayal of a Nordic prince in The Northman in 2022.
Gustaf Skarsgard – $8 Million
Gustaf is best known for playing Floki on the popular TV show Vikings. Alongside Thandie Newton and Evan Rachel Wood, he also portrayed a character in Westworld. Since 1996, Gustaf has had recurring parts in a range of television shows, but most of his work is well-known in Sweden. Perhaps in future roles, this sibling will visit the United States more frequently.
Sam Skarsgard – $1 Million
Sam is a Swedish doctor like his mother My, according to Popular Nett Worth, but he has also dabbled in a few movies over the years. Sam’s first acting position occurred when he was young, but he put his aspirations to become a doctor on hold. In the fantasy film The Invisible from 2002, he acted as his brother Gustaf’s stunt double. He also served as production manager on a few Swedish movies. Sam Skarsgard, the Skarsgard family’s least well-known sibling, makes a good living as a doctor and may want to avoid the spotlight.
Bill Skarsgard – $5 Million
Bill, the middle child of Stellan and My’s six children, was motivated to become an actor by his family and landed a small part in the Swedish movie White Water Fury, which starred his brother Alexander, in 2000. But Bill has grown into his role as Matthew in the well-liked sci-fi trilogy for young adults called Divergent. From there, Bill started to take on more significant roles, including Atomic Blond with Charlize Theron and, most memorably, Pennywise the Clown in the 2017 version of Stephen King’s It.
Eija Skarsgard – $500,000
Eija, the lone female among seven brothers, rose to fame through modelling. When she supported her father at a Pirates of the Caribbean premiere when she was 14 years old, the beauty was spotted. She has now stepped away from modelling, citing the need to slim down, but according to Featured Biography, she intends to return when she’s ready. Eija began working in casting for the Swedish television shows Young Royals and Lust in 2022. Eija is happy with her job as a nightclub manager in Stockholm right now, and her admirers look forwards to seeing her picture on magazine covers in the future.
Valter Skarsgard – $1 Million
The most well-known roles of the first Skarsgard family’s youngest kid were in Swedish television. Although he made appearances in Portkod 1321 and Black Lake, he is best known for his role as Jon in the Arn movie, which stars his father and is based on the television series of the same name. As a part-time Twitch streamer and well-known figure among Rocket League and Rainbow Six: Siege players, Valter may be known to American gamers.
