Rahmon Adegoke Adedoyin, M.D. (born January 1, 1957) is a Nigerian businessman and educator who was sentenced to death by hanging on May 30, 2023. He founded and owns Hilton Hotel, Oduduwa University and The Polytechnic, Ile-Ife. Rahmon claimed in an interview with Vanguard that the late Oba Okunade Sijuwade nominated him as Ooni of Ife before his death because of “his developmental strides, particularly in the cradle of Yoruba land.”
Early life, education and career
Rahmon Adegoke was born into the royal family of the Akui ruling house in the ancient city of Ife, Osun State, and attended primary and secondary school there. After studying Mathematics Education at the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University), he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 1983. He also earned a master’s degree from Centurion International University in California and a doctorate degree from All Saints University School of Medicine in New York City in 1996.
Rahmon established The Polytechnic, Ile-Ife in 1984 and Oduduwa University in 2009 in an effort to reform education in Nigeria. He holds membership in the Nigerian Institute of Industrial Statisticians.
Rahmon Adedoyin and Timothy Adegoke Murder Case
In November 2021, Dr Rahman Adedoyin and his employee were arrested by Nigerian police after an OAU master’s student, Mr Adegoke Timothy Oludare, went missing after staying at his hotel Hilton Hotels and Resorts.
In an Instagram post, Oriyomi Hamzat stated that he had seen CCTV footage of Rahman Adedoyin Adegoke being involved in the murder of Timothy Oludara, an OAU postgraduate student who stayed at Hilton Hotels.
He wrote
“They entered his room at 12 midnight. We have seen the CCTV but the police have taken them away. It was revealed that they entered by 12:00am. Who are the suspects that killed Timothy? Moshood who is like a personal assistant to Adedoyin and an accomplice was involved as CCTV showed he entered, then Adedoyin entered, and Raheem, the son of Adedoyin and managing director of the hotel entered.
“After some minutes, we saw that they went out of the room. As they went out, they wrapped Timothy’s corpse with a hotel duvet, and tighten it with a rope. They then put it in a big carton and tighten it again with a rope. They put his body in the boot of a car and drove out.”

Osun State Commissioner of Police, Wale Olokode, said that one of the suspects being held in connection with the death of Timothy Adegoke, a Masters student at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, confessed that the son of the owner of Hiltons Hotels and Resorts, Ile-Ife, Roheem Adedoyin, arranged for the corpse to be evacuated and taken to the bush.
According to the police chief, Roheem, the Managing Director of the hotel where the late Adegoke allegedly died, arranged for the corpse to be evacuated and buried without informing the police.
Featuring on a radio programme, ‘Frank Talk’ monitored on Rave FM, Osogbo, Olokode, however said Roheem is on the run, adding that in the course of police investigation into the matter, detectives were able to discover where the corpse was buried.
He said, “One of the suspects confessed that the MD is the son of Dr Ramon Adedoyin, his name is Roheem Adedoyin who is now at large. He also confessed that he (Roheem) organised the corpse to be thrown into a bush. The MD along with two managers took the corpse to the bush.
“None of the staff members informed the police. It was the report of the missing person that made the anti-kidnapping team who then discovered through their meticulous investigation and traced the so-called missing person to that hotel and then traced the corpse, where it was found.”

Where is adedoyin now? Rahmon Adedoyin was arrested in November 2021 following the death of Adegoke Timothy at his Hilton Hotel which he is the founder. He was denied bail but granted access to medical facilities of his choice pending court hearing. On 30th May 2023, Court found Rahmon guilty of murder and sentenced him to death by hanging.
