Gautrain made it known that its train service will not be available on Saturday and Sunday.
It stated that its contingency plans cannot support weekend operations.
This was prompted after the failed negotiation with the Gautrain operator Bombela had the labour union, Numsa.
The union and the Gautrain operator, Mbombela met on Thursday but to negotiate on the salary matter but the two parties refused to reach an agreement.
Workers under Numsa’s umbrella are demanding an eight percent salary increase but the employer insisted on offering 4% which is half of this amount.
As a result of this, the train service made it clear that they would not operate fully.
There will be no Gautrain services this weekend.
