Award-winning Highlife musician, Ronald Kwaku Dei Appiah who is famously known by his stage name as Bisa Kdei , has stated the necessity to stop the comparison between him and ‘young’ artists like Kuami Eugene, Kidi and King Promise.
In an interview with DJ Macon on kysfmonline, when he was asked if he feels threatened by Kuami Eugene, King Promise , or Kidi, Bisa Kdei showed that he wasn’t happy with the question.
Bisa Kdei said it is not wholesome to rank him with the likes of Kidi and Kuami Eugene and he was speaking in a Facebook Live interview when he made the comment.
According to the ‘Mansa’ hitmaker, he believes it is inappropriate to compare him to other artists rather there should be unity campaigned among them just like the Nigerians and other African countries do.
“Let’s not try to create confusion between the artistes, we should rather try to unite the artistes so that we can push our music just like the way Nigeria, Congo, and Cote d’Ivoire are doing” Bisa Kdei stated.
Bisa Kdei whiles responding to a question about being threatened by the said names stated that it was just ”wrong choice of words”.
The “brother brother” hitmaker tagged Kuami Eugene and Kidi as the young artists, implying that it would not be so excellent to correlate him with them as he could be considered as a veteran highlife artiste.
“Whenever somebody says that, I try to correct them. We shouldn’t try to create confusion between people that have been there before and the young ones. When I became famous, what I started preaching was that the young ones would also do highlife so we would project the image of highlife to the next level” Bisa Kdei lamented.
