Kanye West has a new Showtime television series on the way called Omniverse and Jaden Smith is playing the lead role.
Kanye is developing an anthology that explores the various perceptions of the human mind. Jaden will star as a younger version of West that exists entirely in an alternate reality. Each season one episode is expected to be a half hour long with a focus on the topic of ego.
Smith is no stranger to acting as he grew up in a household with two celebrity parents. His music and film careers both took off over the past few years and he just released his new EP ERYS IS COMING. He’s also appeared in Life in a Year and Skate Kitchen, and had starring roles in Netflix’s animated series Neo Yokio and Baz Luhrmann’s The Get Down. Back in 2006 he made his big screen debut alongside his father Will in Pursuit Of Happiness.
Ye has teamed up with Scooter Braun’s SB Projects, Westbrook Studios, Lee Sung Jin, James Shin, Scott Manson, and Miguel Melendez to produce his first TV show. Jaden also gets credit as an executive producer.
Kanye West relentlessly pushes the boundaries through his Yeezy apparel, extensive catalog of music, marriage to Kim Kardashian-West, and now film. He even wants to open his own church now that Sunday Service has become so popular.
Yeezus still holds his anticipated album YANDHI under wraps after announcing its finalization last Fall. The project will have contributions from 6ix9ine, XXXTENTACION, and presumably Lil Pump. Kanye also hit the studio with Timbaland, YNW Melly, and Chief Keef before Jamell’s arrest. He and Melly’s collaboration “Mixed Personalities” currently has over 57 million views on YouTube.
